The Society for Text & Discourse will host its Thirty-Fourth Annual Meeting in Chicago, Illinois, USA from July 17-19, 2024. The conference will be held at Lewis Towers at Loyola University, in Chicago, Illinois. At this year's conference, on the second day we will have a special celebration in honor of Walter Kintsch during which a box lunch will be provided. As part of registration, you will be asked to indicate your meal preference and indicate any dietary restrictions. There are also two special add-on events, a sunset cruise and a Cubs game, that you can select as part of registration.

Thursday Lunch (included): The options you will be asked to choose between for the box lunch are: Tuna Salad Ciabatta, Ham and Swiss Sub, Turkey and Swiss Sandwich, Roasted Pepper and Mozzarella Ciabatta, OR you will be able to indicate your dietary restrictions.

Fireworks Cruise (add-on): Join in a special sunset cruise (https://www.wendellaboats.com/fireworks-cruise/) for networking, fireworks, and fun with other text & discourse researchers on July 17th from 8-10 pm local time. The (heavily discounted) additional charge for this event ($30) includes the cruise and one drink ticket. Tickets are limited and first come first serve. We will have the best chance of buying extra tickets (if demand exceeds our current block) for people who register before May 1.

Chicago Cubs Baseball Game Tickets (add-on): Join in a special group outing with other text & discourse researchers on Friday afternoon July 19th as the Arizona Diamondbacks face the Chicago Cubs. First pitch is at 1:20pm at Wrigley Field. The (heavily discounted) additional fee for this event is $30. Tickets are limited and first come first serve. We will have the best chance of buying extra tickets (if demand exceed our current block) for people who register before May 1.

Remote Attendance: You have the option to register for remote attendance. Remote attendance will include access to submit, view, and comment on other remote presentations, and to access recordings of select presentations from the conference. Please note that if your submission has been accepted for an in-person spoken or poster session, at least one author must attend in person.
THE DEADLINE FOR EARLY REGISTRATION IS MAY 15. Because CRUISE and CUBS tickets are limited, please register by MAY 1 to be sure we can accommodate everyone. We will have the best chance of securing extra tickets for people who register by MAY 1.
Registration fees will increase after May 15. On-site registration will not be available due to regulations regarding food contracts and building security clearance. Late registration will close on July 3.
